Community Support Continues as May 50/50 Winner Claims $10,760 Jackpot

June 03, 2026

Riverside Health Care is excited to announce that AJ Tucker of Fort Frances, Ontario, is the lucky winner of the May 50/50 jackpot, taking home $10,760.

When contacted with the exciting news after just getting off a night shift, Tucker described the experience as “Awesome,” adding that picking up the phone call was “worth it.”

The Riverside’s monthly 50/50 continues to grow thanks to strong support from communities across the Rainy River District and beyond. Proceeds from the raffle currently support the Lights, Camera, DIAGNOSIS campaign, helping bring new state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging equipment to Rainy River Health Centre and La Verendrye General Hospital and the districts first MRI.

Holly Kaemingh, Director of Fundraising, says the continued support from the community has been incredible.

“In less than a year, the level of support we’ve seen has been truly overwhelming,” said Kaemingh. “Our community continues to show up in meaningful ways, and it’s making a real difference as we work toward enhancing diagnostic imaging services and care opportunities locally.”

As summer arrives across the district, Riverside is encouraging residents to keep the momentum going by supporting the June 50/50 draw. Tickets are now available, and participants who purchase before June 12 will be entered for a chance to win the $1,000 Early Bird Prize, proudly sponsored by The Barn.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.rhc5050.com, by visiting the La Verendrye General Hospital Administration Office Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., by calling 807-274-6635, or in person every Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. inside the Main Entrance of La Verendrye General Hospital off Front Street.

With less than $60,000 remaining in the campaign, June’s draw is another opportunity for the community to help bring the project to completion - and maybe become the next big winner.
