Intimate partner violence and abuse (IPV) is a global epidemic that affects the lives of many women. IPV has the potential to cause serious complex health and mental health concerns.
Community Counselling offers trauma-informed therapy to women 16 years and older who have endured violence and abuse, including childhood abuse and/or harm experienced within intimate partner relationships. This may include physical, sexual, emotional, and/or financial harm, and controlling behaviours. Therapeutic services offer clients an opportunity for a collaborative process to learn about the impact of trauma and violence, receive individualized support for their experiences, and an opportunity to address ongoing trauma symptoms and responses. Specialized evidence-based therapeutic modalities are available.
