Riverside Congratulates Dr. Gustafson-Mitchell on Provincial Teaching Award

Riverside is proud to congratulate Dr. Danielle Gustafson-Mitchell, who has been named the recipient of the 2026 PARO Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award for the Northern Ontario School of Medicine University.

Presented by the Professional Association of Residents of Ontario (PARO), this award recognizes physicians who demonstrate exceptional commitment to teaching and mentoring medical residents.

In addition to her dedication to medical education, Dr. Gustafson-Mitchell provides care to patients and families across our communities in her role as a Family Medicine Physician and through her work at Riverside’s La Verendrye General Hospital. Her commitment to both patient care and physician training helps strengthen health care across the Rainy River District and Northwestern Ontario.

Dr. Gustafson-Mitchell’s leadership and mentorship help ensure that residents training in rural and regional settings receive meaningful clinical experience while learning the importance of community-based care.
