Potential Disruption of Emergency Department Services at La Verendrye General Hospital
July 06, 2025
Riverside Health
Care is advising the community about a potential temporary disruption of
Emergency Department services at La Verendrye General Hospital (LVGH) due to
unforeseen circumstances.
At this time,
contingency planning is underway at LVGH for a possible closure:
From: Wednesday,
July 9, 2025, at 8:00 p.m.
Until: Thursday,
July 10, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.
We are diligently
working with our local, regional, and provincial partners to explore all
available options to avoid this temporary disruption, and efforts are ongoing
to ensure minimal impact to our services.
The well-being
and safety of our communities remains our top priority. Should the Emergency
Department at LVGH require temporary closure, we have implemented measures to
ensure that our existing hospital patients receive the care they need without
interruption.
In the case of an
Emergency Department closure, ambulances will be re-routed to the nearest
available Emergency Department.
Anyone requiring
immediate medical assistance should call 9-1-1. Access to non-urgent health
advice or information is available 24 hours a day by calling Health811 at 8-1-1
(TTY: 1-866-797-0007), or by visiting Health811 Online.
Riverside Health
Care is committed to keeping the community informed as this situation evolves.
We will continue to share updates as they become available.
