Gastrointestinal Outbreak Declared at La Verendrye Genreal Hospital
April 30, 2025
Riverside
Health Care in conjunction with the Northwestern Health Unit has declared a Gastrointestinal
Outbreak
on the 2nd Floor In-Patient Unit at La Verendrye General Hospital.
Enhanced visitor restrictions are in place that
permit two (2) visitors or caregivers at a time, per patient. In addition,
visitations must take place in the patients’ rooms, not in common areas or
hallways.
Riverside asks all visitors to
self-screen for symptoms and refrain from visiting our facilities if they are
experiencing any signs of illness.
Hospital operations outside the
affected area are not impacted and continue without interruption.
The Outbreak Management Team
continues to monitor the situation closely. The health and safety of our
patients, families, visitors and staff remain our top priority.
Your efforts in the above
precautions and adhering to visitor guidelines play a vital role in reducing
the spread of illness and protecting the well-being of our community. We
thank everyone for their understanding and continued support.
