The Security Supervisor is responsible for
overseeing and coordinating security-related risk management plans. This position is responsible for developing,
implementing, and administering the day-to-day delivery of all security
programs for Riverside Health Care. The
primary purpose of this role is to provide a safe and secure environment for
patients, residents, clients, staff, and visitors. This individual will advocate and seek
continuous support for integrating optimal security practices and concepts through
effective administration, operations, business practices, and risk assessments. The Security Supervisor will also provide
management of security guards at any Riverside Health Care location.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary
education in the field of criminology, criminal law, and/or Security
administration preferred.
- Current
valid ministry approved Security Guard license required or commitment to
complete the licensing program as part of employment.
- Minimum
two to five years of experience in security or related field required.
- Highly
motivated team player with the ability to work within a challenging
environment.
- Knowledge
of Security practices and related legislation in Ontario.
- Must
be highly organized, possess solid problem solving, analytical, and
communications skills.
- Excellent
organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Strong
computer skills with database experience, MS, Word, Email, Excel program
competency required.
- Commitment
to excellence required.
- Good
health. A demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular and consistent
basis. Required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance,
and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
- Ability

- Demonstrated

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position provides
security services for Riverside Health Care in accordance with established
standards, policies and procedures which includes tasks such as:
1.
Responsibility for security service
standards, policies, and procedures.
2.
Reviews security reports, correcting noted
problems and matters stated. Ensure all
special incident reports are dealt with in a timely fashion.
3. Maintains work relationship with local enforcement, as required.
4. Ensure daily inspection of the site is done, investigating security
concerns internally and externally on the site.
5.
Develop, maintain, and review Security
protocols on an annual basis.
6.
Responsible for developing, planning, and
delivering education and training to all security staff.
7.
Responsible for the usage and monitoring of
audio and video surveillance equipment, BMS Door system and card swipe system
for employee access and identifying and reporting misconduct or non-compliance
with policies and procedures by staff, patients, or visitors.
8.
Work
in conjunction with management to plan, co-ordinate and provide for specialized
security functions.
9. Attend to requests by Human
Resources to conduct investigations, compile evidence and provide reports
respecting staff misconduct or breaches of policies and procedures, conduct or
compile surveillance of staff, and provide staff escorts from property for
staffing issues and concerns.
10. Oversee all security and
surveillance issues.
11. Oversee and maintain the
administration of security programs.
12. Review various detailed
reports and investigation information pertaining to staff and other issues and
incidents for senior management.
13. Maintain confidentiality of
investigations, surveillance and other activities and decision-making by the
Security Department, HR and management respecting staff or other persons.
14. Work with maintenance to
ensure all key and lock problems are resolved in a timely manner.
15. Oversee parking surveillance
and monitoring.
16. Responsible for the
department budget and monitoring expenditures throughout the year
17. Advise the Senior Team of
critical situations.
18. Assist in setting facility
standards and enforcement of these standards.
19. Participates in the
development and evaluation of standards of practice/program services within the
department.
20.
Other duties or responsibilities may be
assigned.

HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position with a rotating schedule, the incumbent may
be required to work evenings, weekends, and be on call.
