QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY:

  • ·          A high school diploma or the equivalent acceptable to the employer
  •         A  valid Ontario driver’s license (Class G) is required with at least five years safe driving experience (subject to verification by MTO) and which is acceptable to the present Corporation vehicle insurance carrier
  •        Must be insurable through Corporation’s vehicle insurance carrier and must continue to maintain such insurability
  • ·          Ability to effectively speak, read and write the English language
  • •         Experience in transporting people, considered an asset
  • ·       Demonstrated strong interpersonal skill with the ability to function effectively independently, with front line personnel, and management
  • ·     Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment with excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload
  • ·         Dependable with a verifiable acceptable attendance record
  • ·         Certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.         To safely collect, transport and deliver staff, for Riverside Health Care Facilities

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • 1. To collect, transport and deliver staff for Riverside Health Care Facilities, including but not restricted to regular trips to and from La Verendrye General Hospital and Rainycrest Long-Term Care Home from the staff members place of residence, on a basis as determined by the employer.
  • 2. Report all vehicle discrepancies to Director, Community Services or designate.
  • 3. Responsible for maintaining a clean vehicle for operation.
  • 4. Perform daily vehicle circle check as required.
  • 5. To carry out all work assignments safely and be knowledgeable of, and in compliance with, relevant regulations and acts including Occupational Health and Safety Act; WHMIS; Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act; CSA; etc.
  • 6. To perform other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the Director, Community Services or other Management or designate.
