More Information
Exercise stress testing is a diagnostic tool used to detect the presence of coronary artery disease. A physician administers the treadmill test with the assistance of a registered nurse in an area of the Day Surgery department. This procedure takes approximately 30 minutes, including a medical history and physical exam taken by the physician. Although there is no specific preparation for the test, patients should wear comfortable walking shoes and clothing that is suitable to exercise in. A current list of medications and dosages is also helpful to bring.
