Riverside’s November 50/50 Winner Takes Home Record-Breaking $15,445

Riverside Health Care is thrilled to announce the winners of our November 50/50 raffle, Jackie and Gerry Guimond of Fort Frances, who took home an incredible $15,445, our largest take-home prize to date!

Jackie and Gerry arrived all smiles to pick up their cheque, sporting matching sweatshirts and sharing their reflections on supporting local health care. “It’s not all about the money,” Jackie said. “It’s not about winning, it’s about contributing to our care here.”

Jackie also recounted a recent conversation they had. “We were having coffee with friends the other day, and they told us we should be buying the Thunder Bay tickets because the jackpot is higher,” she said. “I quickly said, ‘That’s not for our hospital!’ It’s much better that I contribute into $15,000 going right here.”

Gerry agreed, adding that their support will continue. “We’ll continue buying tickets, of course,” he said. “Not necessarily because we won, or for winning, but for the cause.”

Proceeds from the November draw will directly support Riverside’s Lights, Camera, DIAGNOSIS! campaign, which is raising funds to bring the district’s first MRI and install new digital X-ray units at both La Verendrye General Hospital and the Rainy River Health Centre.

“This kind of momentum is incredible to see,” said Holly Kaemingh, Director of Fundraising. “To hit our highest-ever jackpot shows the power of community support. It’s people like Jackie and Gerry who really drive this campaign forward, people who understand that even a small contribution can make a real impact. Every dollar is used responsibly to strengthen the care our community relies on and to bring modern diagnostic tools closer to home.”
