Emergency Room

La Verendrye General Hospital has a full service Emergency Department offering Emergency care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Care provided ranges from very serious acute injuries and health problems such as heart attacks, stroke and car accidents to minor health issues such as sore throats & minor injuries. Surgical consults are available for general surgery, gynaecological and orthopaedic trauma.

The Emergency Department has been recently renovated and is now a well-designed bright Department with improvements in the waiting room, triage process by a registered nurse and the overall confidentiality of patient care. There is a new state of the art patient monitoring equipment.

The Emergency Department also acts as an outpatient area for minor surgical procedures done by a patient’s family physician, such as epidural injections to removal of small lesions.

If you have medical concern and are seeking advice please use the Telehealth Ontario line at 1-866-797-0000 where you will speak with a Registered Nurse.
